I guess the thing about growing up is that you grow into a different set of ideals. Things which may have been important to your younger self, may no longer hold relevance in the present. Even ideas from the past couple of years may feel obsolete. These new thoughts form a bigger, sometimes truer and sometimes more confused idea of yourself. There comes a time when one tends to question everything. There is a shift in your goals as you no longer place the same set of importance to what may have once been the be all and end all.

At the beginning, everything is exciting and you explore mindlessly. That’s important for who you are then. As realisation dawns, you begin to choose your paths and make your decisions. You become a person with certain strong positions and the privilege to choose.

Slowly, past achievements are unable to validate your craft or your mind and what was once held in high regard isn’t even a passing thought. That’s when there comes the question of ‘Who am I?’ and ‘What is my purpose?’ What am I setting out to accomplish and what am I here to give?

Yet, life goes on. Leaving you grappling with the feeling of trying to find the cause that you are meant to fight for or to believe in a purpose you can lend your heart to.

And if you grow, not in age but in your mind, the answers eventually become clear. You see yourself for who you are, unaffected by outside perceptions or by personal battles. And you quietly walk towards that sense of self; ever-learning, ever-growing, constantly showing you the way forward.
