Transitions can be equal amounts of gruelling and freeing. Finally embarking on a path tumultuously debated for a while is the sort of freedom which comes with a heavy dose of anxiety. As humans we are good at questioning ourselves, our circumstances and our decisions. A double edged sword at times, offering pearls of wisdom and occasionally having us take a dip in the less treaded waters of doubt.

The inkling towards a transition though, is an understanding to have grown enough to take a new path and embrace a new life. Perhaps the principles of the past don’t match up any longer or there seems to be a new hobby, a different interest, a new found realisation of something else being worth giving a shot.

Three years ago having moved cities, there were parts within which seemed excited, almost delirious to experience what’s ahead; while others which questioned and probed. Three years later, the new city turns into a home and ends up giving more insight into myself than any other life experience yet.

See, there are no right or wrong decisions, it is what you make of them. There is no such thing as luck, it is what one does on a daily basis to be prepared for the opportunities which may come their way.

Welcoming transitions has now become second nature. Taking time to understand what it is that you really enjoy doing is infinitely valuable. It is crucial to know that this may change from time to time. And to also know that it is alright if it does. What used to be familiar may no longer be an interest. But the battle begins when you choose whether to continue with the familiar, the comfortable, the better known, or fling yourself in a lesser known territory, start from the very beginning to pave your way.

Choosing the former means a slow death of the new spark. So I choose the latter; starting from scratch, bruised knees and unpredictability over complacency, security and compromised interests.

And then work. Work harder and smarter than ever before.

  3. I believe you are always in a phase of transition – because life isn’t constant – a change is always taking place and you’re always on the move.
I love the entire color palette of this editorial – the way the background matches perfectly with the tone of the bags, yet does not merge with it, it’s absolutely stunning.
    Your creativity is really inspiring.

    1. Hi Rashika! Yes, I completely agree. The change is more so prominent professionally, when you do many different kinds of work as opposed to doing work in a single discipline. So happy to know you enjoyed this shoot, conceptualising it, was a pleasure for me and the results made me super happy.

  4. I really appreciate your work. You look beautiful in your posts and I enjoy reading your writing a lot as well.

Thank you for your refreshing and very real thoughts.
