Fashionistas alike chant sermons of the 90′s revival in their acid wash denims and effortless dungarees, always left carelessly unbuttoned to further propagate the enduring nonchalance of the grunge era. No matter how many denim overalls and tie dyes get produced on a weekly basis in China to satisfy the consumption cravings of the world, there is one trend from those days which stands out as a clear winner —The Crop Top. This little piece of flirtatiousness can be and will be paired with and on anything and everything. Fashion bloggers the world over of course, have taken the trend by storm, as they usually do, making runway craziness seem appropriate for a sprint to the local grocery store or a not-so-private walk around the park. With mid riffs baring on every other site you glance upon, it obviously is ingrained into the subconscious being of ordinary humans, fashionista or not, that this is the way to go. Undeniably, to give confidence is a rare ability.

A little collection of crop tops created by Indian designer Ridhi Mehra would seamlessly slip into a trend report citing silhouettes from the nineties. Though it has the ability to fit in, it’s ability to stand out is what interests me. A carefully placed cornucopia of flowers, neon bright on a humble palette of off-white makes the design as lavish as it is simple. There would be many a creatives who would enjoy wearing this with a magnificent voile sari on one day, a pair of denim cutoffs on another and crisp white trousers on yet another. Moving on from the confusing styling options, I chose to feature this crop top with a simple faux leather skirt and a bit of fantasy-floral-lonely-girl-on-an-island vibe. I could not have done it without the easy dreaminess provided by this embroidered beauty. As I secretly hope you are not remotely sick of crop tops yet, even after seeing one too many on the interwebs, I would suggest you check out some more by the designer here. I promise you will fall in love.
