Not sure how an indoor shoot in a Portuguese house, a circular bath tub and a canopy bed induced the all too recognisable feelings of the sense of drowning and of vulnerability through this story, where each image can have it’s own interpretation depending on the state of mind of the viewer. There is a darkness and mystery which some may find comforting while others may find unsettling. Not knowing what to expect and unsure of how to feel. It is both strange and wonderful to be a part of a story so open, almost devious in it’s presentation. Yet in that moment of bewilderment, going through these grainy black and white images, those three words rang loud and clear. Float, Don’t Sink. As earnestly as ever.
PS: Thank you Parizad, for creating art and having me be a part of it.
